Textile Industry Humidity Control

In the textile industry, humidity control can provide benefits in all processes.

Spinning:

To ensure the preservation and quality of the yarn, it is necessary to maintain a certain level of moisture and humidity. The “dry fog” produced by AKIMist “E” creates the optimum environment where the moisture penetrates faster and uniformly within the textile fibers.

Warping:

As the threads can be fragile during the warping process, moisture plays a major role in ensuring that the quality of the material remains resistant. With the implementation of the AKIMist “E” it is possible to spray “Dry Fog” to establish an optimal level of moisture and relative humidity. By doing so :

it maintains the material moist;
the thread breakage caused by drying is prevented;
it assist in catching any textile dust;
and prevents dust from sticking on to the fiber.

Weaving:

During the weaving process, where the fabrics are placed in the looms, if the moisture and humidity levels are inadequate, this could lead to the drying of the weft. When the threads are dry, they could break. To prevent this from happening, the AKIMist “E”’s “Dry Fog” will not only assist in regulating the level of relative humidity, moisturizing sufficiently the threads, but also will humidify without wetting the looms.

Yarn storage:

AKIMist assists in regulating the suitable level of relative humidity and temperature in the storage. By doing so, the yarn or textile string becomes stronger and more flexible, maintaining and preserving the structure, and the color of the material.

This also assists in providing the yarn with the optimal level of moist, which will impact its weight. The weight and quality are critical financial factors for textile companies.

Steel Industry

Suppressing or containing dust can be done by either lightly wetting the substance you wish to contain, or by fogging. When suppressing dust by spraying water, our fogging units spray small water droplets the same size as dust particles. These water droplets collide with the dust particles mid-air and weigh them to the ground.

Dust suppression during the iron and steel making process:

Paper and Printing Industry

In gravure printing, in winter, there is a risk of fires caused by static electricity sparks. Humidification helps prevent static electricity from being generated, the challenge is that, at a gravure printing factory, humidifying a large space and keeping adequate humidity level across the entire space is extremely hard, because local ventilation systems there continuously exhaust a large volume of indoor air including evaporated organic solvents, while simultaneously taking in the same volume of dry outdoor air

IKEUCHI proposes to address this challenge with a “spot humidification” approach by spraying non-wetting Dry Fog* directly towards the ink pans, the source of ignition, from a close distance to effectively increase local humidity just around the pans. By increasing the relative humidity to around 50%, the electrostatic charge decreases significantly, mitigating the risk of a fire seriously damaging the facility and endangering the workers' safety.

Not only preventing a fire, Dry Fog Humidification also maintains good print quality by suppressing airborne particles, reducing dust attraction to the plastic film surfaces and avoiding print failures such as ink streaking due to foreign particles get caught between the doctor blade and the roller.
